It appears that another wave of Red Lobster closures is on the way, and two Minnesota locations look to be involved in the latest round. The restaurant chain has emerged from bankruptcy with a new ownership group, and a plan to make the seafood chain relevant again.

News of Red Lobster making another round of restaurant closures began circulating this weekend, and it appears that 23 locations are on the chopping block, which includes two Minnesota locations. The good news for fans of the Cheddar Bay Biscuits is that the St. Cloud location doesn't appear on a list of possible closures by August 31st.

Unfortunately, the stores in Maple Grove and Golden Valley could close by the end of the week according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

The Maple Grove location is located at 12515 Elm Creek Blvd. N. and the Golden Valley location is located at 8900 Golden Valley Road.

The seafood restaurant was recently purchased through Chapter 11 bankruptcy by one of its largest creditors, and one of the things the new ownership group is doing is trimming down store locations, in an effort to become profitable sooner.

The new owners, Fortress Investment Group, do have some restaurant background. The company recently paid around $93 million to help bail out the ownership group behind Old Chicago Pizza.

While it's unclear if there will be more closures, after this round of 23 restaurants, we do know if the judge hearing the closure case in bankruptcy court approves the motion to close these restaurants, their last day to operate would be by August 31st, which is this Saturday.
