There’s a wave of excitement building in Minnesota, and especially in Fergus Falls. It all centers around one now familiar name...Chris Tungseth.

Chris has been turning heads on American Idol this season due to his personal story, his unique sound (and Samson-like hair)... and now his hometown is preparing for the possibility of a major moment.

WILL CHRIS ADVANCE INTO THE TOP THREE?

If Chris advances into the Top 3 during tonight's May 4th episode, the national spotlight will shift straight to Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Why? Because a hometown visit would follow almost immediately.

PARADE IN FERGUS FALLS

Plans are already in motion for a full day of celebration on May 6th, when Chris and the show’s production crew are expected to arrive.

The schedule includes a parade through downtown Fergus Falls and a live performance at Kirkbride Park, known by many locals as the 'RTC grounds.'

CITY LEADERS ARE EXPECTING A HUGE CROWD

City leaders and event organizers are preparing for a huge turnout, with out-of-town visitors likely traveling in from surrounding areas and across the region.

WILL THERE BE TRAFFIC ISSUES?

To reduce congestion and keep pedestrians safe, vehicles will not be allowed to mix with crowds on the RTC campus during the concert. Instead, organizers are working with M State to serve as a primary drop-off point. From there, Otter Tail coaches will run shuttle buses to both the parade and the concert site, helping move people efficiently throughout the day.

THE RALLY IS ON FOR CHRIS TUNGSETH

While the planning details are important, the heart of this story is the community itself. Fergus Falls is rallying behind Chris in a big way, embracing the chance to celebrate someone who started in their hometown. From yard signs popping up around town to special T-shirts available through the Chamber, it’s clear that local pride is running high.

Still, there’s one key step before any of this becomes reality.

YOU CAN HELP CHRIS WIN! TAKE PART IN VOTING

Chris needs votes.

Fans are being encouraged to take part in the voting process during Monday night’s show to help push him into the Top 3. Whether it’s through the show’s app, online voting, or text, every vote brings him closer to that hometown celebration and a shot at becoming the next American Idol.

For Fergus Falls and the rest of us in Minnesota, we are all pulling for our hometown music hero to win! Good luck, Chris!
