Turn Trash Into Treasure At St. Cloud’s Art Event
Do you remember art classes when you were a kid? I have vague memories of making pumpkins for Halloween out of air-filled balloons covered in papier mache, and creating pictures out of macaroni.
It was fun getting your hands dirty. I still recall how much fun that was, and how I was so focused on completing my art project. Nothing else was on my mind except glue, creating and using my imagination. I couldn't wait to bring it home to show my Mom & Dad what I had completed.
NOW.MAKE.ART IS COMING TO ST CLOUD
Now.Make.Art, or NMA for short, is all about giving kids an outlet for artistic expression, and they are coming to central Minnesota, offering free classes through the Great River Regional Library system.
NMA likes to focus on children's curiosity, giving them options to think creatively and use a variety of different materials to create their art.
OTHER ART CLASSES AVAILABLE IN CENTRAL MN
NMA also features lots of other classes, and they are being offered all over central Minnesota. Monticello, Elk River, Big Lake, you name it. Whether it be Garbage Friends, working with clay, or even building a game, NMA can keep your kids busy all summer. Check HERE to find their schedule.

GARBAGE FRIENDS PUPPETS & CRITTERS
NMA is based out of St. Paul, and they work with area festivals, libraries, schools, and all kinds of organizations to bring art to young people where they are at.
On Monday, NMA is bringing 'Garbage Friends' to the St. Cloud Great River Regional Library. Garbage Friends is free and will take place from 2 to 5 pm and is for school-aged children.
It's all about turning everyday materials that we would otherwise throw away into art. Specifically, brand new puppets and/or critters, people, or even mythical creatures; whatever your child can imagine.
The materials are already provided and ready to work with, so your child can focus on spending their time on their creations.
Materials could be anything! They might be bottle caps, cardboard, buttons, plastic...you name it.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You can learn more about this fun experience by going to griver.org. There is no fee and no registration required. Just show up at the Great River Regional Library on Monday from 2-5 and let your child or children create.
