Central MN Gets a New Taste of Mexico

GIOVANNI'S HERE AND GONE

I used to love Giovanni's Pizza when I lived in Kentucky. It was the pride and joy pizza place in our community. They had a huge menu and were packed every day.

I didn't find out that we recently opened a Giovanni's in Sauk Rapids until after it had already closed.

Over the weekend, my boyfriend was driving by and noticed a sign out front advertising a new restaurant opening in the same location.

The sign said, "OPENING SOON...LOS MARIACHIS MEXICAN GRILL."

Have you been to a Los Mariahchis? I was checking the name out online and noticed that there are a few of these restaurants around central Minnesota. There is one in Alexandria, as well as Rogers, Minnesota.

ROGER'S LOCATION

In January of this year, Los Mariachis Mexican Grill opened in Rogers where El Loro had previously been located. (It sounds like a similar story, as I believe El Loro was in Sauk Rapids for several years before the recent changes). The Rogers location recently celebrated a grand opening event earlier this month with a live mariachi band.

From the story in an online article that I read, it sounds like the restaurant serves things that you would expect from a Mexican restaurant, like enchiladas, fajitas, fried ice cream, burritos, tacos, and more.

The Rogers location prides itself on its margaritas. I'm hoping that this will be something that comes with our new Sauk Rapids location.

SAUK RAPIDS LOCATION

I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see if this is finally going to be THE business that sticks in this location. The location for Los Mariachis Mexican Grill will be 415 Benton Drive in Sauk Rapids.
