Celebrate the Top 10 Country Songs of 2011, So Far
TheBoot.com has come up with a list of the top 10 songs of 2011, and I am sharing them with you. These are a must have for your next playlist.
10. Lady Antebellum - Just a Kiss
I think this is Lady Antebellum's best song yet. I know 'Need You Now' might still be the favorite for some of you, but I have officially moved on to 'Just A Kiss'. It's the perfect summer love song. I am really looking forward to hearing more from their upcoming album which they hope to release this fall.
9. Kenny Chesney - Live a Little
Another good sing-a-long song from Kenny! It's the perfect song for a bonfire on a summer night, reminding us to have fun in life!
8. Luke Bryan - Country Girl (Shake it for Me)
This is definitely one of the big summer hits! It's catchy and you can dance to it - a perfect combination for a great country song.
7. Miranda Lambert - Heart Like Mine
In true Miranda fashion, this song is so honest, that's why I love it so much. Miranda is a girl who knows exactly who she is and isn't afraid to tell us about herself through her music - and that my friends makes her great.
6. Keith Urban - Without You
Every time Keith and his wife Nicole Kidman show up on a red carpet, or do an interview, or even end up with a picture in the tabloids it is obvious how truly in love with each other they really are. And this song is a testament to that love, it's almost like you can feel how much he loves her when he's singing this, which is exactly why this song is so amazing.
5. Blake Shelton - Honey Bee
This playful tune from Blake makes me want to go lay out in the grass and stare up at the clouds on a sunny summer day and just sing along. Yeah, it's a love song to Miranda, but it's fun too, and it makes me smile.
4. Rascal Flatts - I Won't Let Go
Rascal Flatts knows how to tug on my heart string better than anyone, and they have done it again. Whether in love or in friendship, supporting the important people in your life is what really matters, and that's what this song is all about.
3. Josh Kelley - Gone Like That
Country music is full of songs about loss and heart ache, but Josh has taken this typical topic and made it both powerful, and fun to listen to with the catchy tune.
2. Brad Paisley (Featuring Alabama) - Old Alabama
It's the collaboration on this song that really did it for me. Yes it's upbeat and fun like most of Brad's songs, but teaming up with Alabama and singing about old Alabama songs is genius! I love it. Brad talks about Alabama songs being more romantic than any Frank Sinatra or Barry White song - which I would personally agree with in a few cases.
1. Zac Brown Band - Colder Weather
This is a song that can speak to almost anyone. We make choices in our lives that we are unsure of all the time, and eventually we come around and realize whether or not it was the right choice. The Zac Brown Band is excellent at making music that is true and easy to relate to, and they have done it again with this song. I love it.
There you go - enjoy! The first half of 2011 has brought us some really great country music, I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings! What are your favorite songs from this year so far? Any of them not make the list?
