Brantley Gilbert's tour mate Michael Ray is getting married soon, so one would figure that'd guarantee a wedding invite for the headliner and his wife, right?

The "What Happens in a Small Town" singer had the same thought, so when asked about it during an interview with Taste of Country Nights, Gilbert decided to get answers. Watch as he whips out his cell phone to press Ray on the subject. The call starts at about the 10-minute mark of the interview, which aired on more than 100 Taste of Country Nights radio stations and on Facebook and YouTube Live Thursday night (Aug. 22).

In the end, Gilbert is satisfied with what he learns from Ray, who is set to marry Carly Pearce this fall. The two men will be seeing a lot of each other on the Not Like Us Tour. Lindsay Ell (Gilbert's singing partner on "What Happens in a Small Town") joins the pair for a run of dates that stretches into October, with a break in early September for Gilbert to welcome his new baby girl.

Musically, his new Fire & Brimstone album drops Oct. 4. Personally, wife Amber is set to deliver the couple's daughter in early September. It's their second after welcoming Barrett into the world in late 2017. Gilbert is candid about being a girl dad and fatherhood in general during this wide-ranging interview. At one point he explains how due to the public nature of his life and early indiscretions, his relationship with his kids will be different than most parents.

Start the interview at the beginning to see how he plans to handle his little girl's future boyfriends. It will be done in a way that's truly on-brand.
