FUN EVENT THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN ENJOY

A first ever for the Boy Scouts of America...and you don't even have to be a Boy Scout to enter. This fun activity is for the whole family to enjoy.

The Boy Scouts of America have teamed up with the Texas Motor Speedway and NASCAR for the virtual "Pinewood Derby 500", where you and your kids can build a car and actually send it to Texas Motor Speedway for a LIVE race!

How exciting is this. You don't have to be a Boy Scout, or even a boy to get in on all the fun. This is a great family fun experience, where you and your kids can build a pinewood derby car together, and then watch your car virtually as it races other kids cars at Texas Motor Speedway on September 12th.

They are asking families to participate by submitting your own pinewood derby car, and watch it race on the Boy Scouts of America Facebook page.

HOW TO FIND DERBY KITS

The big question is: How do I even get started? You're in luck. You can get your own pinewood derby kit at www.scoutshop.org. You can also find pinewood derby kits online at places like Amazon.

Once you build, and design your car, you'll then mail it to Boy Scouts of America by September 8th and you will be entered. Your car will then race September 12th.

INSIDER TIP

I spoke with one of the people from the event, and they said, “Put the weight in the back of the car if you want it to do better.” See if this tip works for you!
