Archbishop Daniel Plans Visit to St. Cloud This Weekend

ST. CLOUD (WJON News) - Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Church is busy getting ready for a special parish visit this weekend.

The Most Reverend Daniel, Archbishop of Chicago and the Midwest will be in St. Cloud through the weekend.

In addition to a few meetings and a tour of the area, Archbishop Daniel will hold a Vespers and Divine Liturgy.

Holy Myrrhbearers’ Father Andrew says a Divine Liturgy with an archbishop is unique.

When a hierarchy shows up in the Orthodox Church, everything kind of changes a little bit. And this is a stress point, because all the priests and deacons throughout the country don't normally have a bishop with us. So we always do it the way we're supposed to do it. And so we are not well practiced. And so when he gets in, we have to sit down and figure out how is he going to serve this thing? Because there's so many different variations.

The Vespers service will be Saturday evening at 5:00 pm, with the Divine Liturgy Sunday morning starting at 9:30, although they may start earlier due to a few special ceremonies.
