MOVING MOUNTAINS FOR MADISON

Madisen, a student from Apollo High School,  was diagnosed in 2012 at age 9 with a blood disorder, essential thrombocythemia or "ET", where her body produced too many platelets. Her disease progressed to a form a chronic leukemia called myelofibrosis.

After her family has discussed options with many many doctors and facilities, according to information on their gofundme.com web page,  it has been decided that the best option and cure for Madisen is a bone marrow transplant.

THE AMAZING MATCHES

Madisen astonishingly was blessed with 2 perfectly matched sibling donors, her sister Brooke AND her brother Ryan.

At this time,  the transplant team at the U of M has chosen Ryan to be her donor. Genetic testing will be done  to ensure Brooke and Ryan do not have the same MPL mutation that caused Madisen's disease before transplant takes place.

The transplant is scheduled for May of this year. Madisen will endure approximately a 4 to 6 week hospital stay with an additional 100 days within 30 miles of the U of M; hopefully at the Ronald McDonald house.

MADISEN'S PUPPY....AQUA

In Madisen's eyes the hardest part about this entire process is leaving her pup, Aqua. Madisen chose May 20th because she wants to be home for Aqua's first birthday, May 19th.

As with many families, her Mom Melissa will not be bringing in any household income for at least 5 months so she can be with and care for Madisen. The family will be using the funds raised for expenses related to Madisen’s diagnosis. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated by Madisen and her family as they navigate this difficult journey.

Family and friends keep the page updated on Madisen's progress.  Thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers and contributions. Lets get Madisen and Aqua back together permanently.  :-)
