800 Minnesota Kids In Need of Adoption
HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO ADOPT?
Have you ever considered adoption? Are you still considering adoption? I have. I've seriously looked into what it would take to adopt. Your questions are probably the same questions I've had. How much does it cost to adopt? Do I have enough room in my house? What type of child would fit best with my lifestyle and my home? I'm a single parent of three teenage/adult boys. Do I qualify? Do I have enough time?
YOU COULD CHANGE LIVES
According to MNAdopt.org, there are currently 800 Minnesota kids looking for a home. Many of them are teens; the perfect age for someone like me who has older teens. These kids are in foster care due to NO fault of their own. They have various backgrounds and family situations that can include parents that have physically abused them, have addiction problems, just to name a few. That means that these precious children need a family that can provide them the things they may have lacked; including the ability to trust an adult; They need to feel safe, supported and cared for; and I think more than anything; they need someone who can give of their time.
WHO CAN ADOPT?
That is the question. You can adopt even if you don't OWN a home. You can adopt if you are single, married, or in a relationship. You don't have to have a high income. If you are adopting a teen or older child, there is really no age limit for the adoptive parent. So knowing all of those things...you could be a parent! You could provide love, care, and support to a child who really needs you.
