The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Friday evening through Saturday morning for portions of Central Minnesota including Stearns, Wright, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Douglas, and Pope Counties.

Snowfall amounts of 5 to 9 inches are expected across western and southern Minnesota. 2-4" looks more likely for St. Cloud. There will be a sharp gradient in amounts near I-94, with little or no snow possible to the northeast.

From the National Weather Service this morning: The winter storm remains on track for Friday into Saturday. The heaviest snow looks to fall from western MN through far southern MN. Strong winds will also contribute to reduced visibility and travel will be difficult in the heaviest snow band.
