We all know that St. Cloud is one of the worst places to drive in Minnesota, now there's data to prove it, and we made it twice in the list of the 'top 7 worst intersections'.

MnDOT did a statistic tally of all intersections in the state of Minnesota to see what the top 10 worst intersections were, and out of the 10 there were 3 intersections that weren't in the Twin Cities. Of those 3 intersections, 2 of them were in St. Cloud within a block from each other. The other non-metro intersection is located in Baxter, MN.

As you'll see from the list below, the #1 worst intersection in the entire state of Minnesota is in St. Cloud at the Hwy 15 at Hwy 23 & 2nd St. (See the map below)

In this report, they looked at the following criteria for ranking the worst intersections: Fatalities, Severe (Life-Altering) Injuries, Moderate Injuries, Minor Injuries, Property Damage, Total Crashes, Crash Ratio.

#1 - MN 15 AT HWY 23 & 2ND ST S, ST.CLOUD
#2 - I94 AT SNELLING AVE NORTH RAMPS,ST. PAUL
#3 - HIAWATHA (HWY 55) & E 26TH ST, MPLS
#4 - MN 252 & 66TH AVE, BROOKLYN CENTER
#5 - US 169 & COUNTY ROAD 81, BROOKLYN PARK
#6 - I94 & OLSON HWY WEST RAMPS
#7 - MN 15 & HWY 23, ST CLOUD

It should be noted that this list was put together in 2012. The reason for pointing this out in 2016 is this...When considering that a few of these intersections in the Twin Cities have been updated to be safer, both intersections in St. Cloud are the same as they were in 2012. The likeliness that St. Cloud's #7 spot may be higher now is high, and our #1 spot is still secured with no doubt.
