If you are looking for a new television, you might want to hold off on your purchase until the end of the year. LG and Samsung have unveiled a new television that is super thin and weighs around 16 pounds.

The new 55 inch televisions use OLED technology - much like what is used in your smart device. In fact, these new televisions are just as thin as a smart phone. Measuring in at just 4 millimeters thick, they make the flat panel televisions of today look like a cell phone from 1982.

The new technology won't be cheap though. When they hit stores by the end of this year, they will begin at $5,000.
