Minneapolis Makes New Monopoly Board, Replaces Park Place

The votes have been counted and the results are in!

About a month ago, it was revealed that Monopoly was looking to add new cities to the game.  Minneapolis was one of the cities in the running and people could vote at Buzzfeed.  The results are in!

According to KARE11, Minneapolis came in at second place, which will replace Park Place on the Monopoly Board.  The city beat out some major cities like Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. What shocked me is what city came in first place.  You would expect something big, bigger than Minneapolis.  Replacing the Boardwalk....is....Pierre, South Dakota!!

I've never been to Pierre and I have to admit it doesn't sound quite as exotic as some of the other places that were in the running, but I'm excited for them and for all of us in the Midwest.  With Pierre and Minneapolis taking the top two spots on the Monopoly game board, we just proved how totally awesome us Midwesterners are!
