Meet Minnesota’s New Country’s Biggest Fan, Matthew

Each Friday for the past month-and-a-half, I've been receiving calls from Minnesota's New Country's biggest fan.

He calls in only on Fridays to request his favorite song of the moment, Luke Bryan's "Country Girl." Matthew is ten-years-old and says he wants to be a radio engineer when he grows up. He says he listens to country music from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed, and of course it's always Minnesota's New Country.

I finally got to meet Matthew this past Friday. He stopped by the station with his parents and his grandpa to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Minnesota's News Country studios. He was especially excited about our engineering room.

We hooked him up with a station T-shirt. We gave him our smallest size and it's still a little big on him. I reassured him that he'll grow into it! I'm told that he is wearing the shirt as pajamas in the mean time.
