St. Cloud Native Killed in Avalanche in Sierra Nevada Mountain Range

Searchers have found the body of a missing St. Cloud native who was killed in an avalanche in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. Inyo County Sheriff William Lutze says crews used sonar technology to find Michael David Meyers on Saturday in the John Muir Wilderness east of Fresno.

St. Cloud District Halts Demolition of Clark Field

The St. Cloud area school district is halting demolition of Clark Field while they mull all other options for a future site to place early childhood education programs. The district originally had a plan to put in a $25 million building on the field for early childhood education, community education, adult basic education, the district welcome center, media services and the administrative offices.

A six-year-old Sartell girl has made it into the final round of voting in a cooking contest to win a $30,000 makeover for her cafeteria. 1st grade Pine Meadow Elementary student Kaitlyn Reichel has been creating cooking videos with her Mom for the Uncle Ben’s Rice Beginners contest.

Elected Mayor of “BizTown” Mackenzie Oksa is All-Star Student [VIDEO]

At just 10-years-old, Talahi Community school 5th grader Mackenzie Oksa can already tell people that she’s been an elected official. She was recently elected mayor of BizTown: which is part of a junior achievement program that gives kids a chance to run a miniature town for a day by themselves.

For six-year-old Kaitlyn Reichel and her Mom Cindy, cooking has become a chance to bond and spend time together. It's also given them a unique chance to give back to the community.
