The list of performers for the 2012 ACM Awards continues to grow, with some of the biggest names in country being tacked on as entertainment as the 47th annual event draws nearer. The Academy of Country Music just announced that Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Sara Evans are the newest performers slated to make an appearance on the live telecast, which will air from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 1.

This trifecta of talent is joining the already celebrity-packed lineup for the evening, which includes big names like Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGrawJason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Chris Young and the Band Perry.

Urban already has seven ACM Awards to his name, including two Male Vocalist of the Year Awards and others. He was also honored in 2010 with the coveted Jim Reeves International Award for the work he’s done to spread country music in and beyond the US. Urban recently received two prestigious awards from Australia’s Country Music Channel, receiving honors for Video of the Year and International Artist of the Year.

Underwood is also no stranger to the ACM Awards, having netted three awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as seven other awards from the Academy. This year, she’s nominated for her seventh consecutive year for Female Vocalist of the Year, and she’s also up for Vocal Event of the Year for her Brad Paisley duet ‘Remind Me.’

In 2011, Evans released her first studio album in six years, ‘Stronger.’ With that comeback, the songstress has reignited her audience and is currently up for Female Vocalist of the Year, which she last won in 2005. The first single from her new record, ‘A Little Bit Stronger,’ spent several weeks at No. 1, establishing Evans as the only female artist in 2011 to have a song stay at No. 1 for two consecutive weeks on both Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and Country Aircheck.

Catch Urban, Underwood, Evans and the rest of the can’t-miss ACM lineup April 1 on CBS at 8PM ET.
