The Wright County Fair Board has announced that 2020 Wright County Fair has been canceled due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

The Stearns County Fair, Benton County Fair, Sherburne County Fair, Mille Lacs County Fair, and Morrison County Fair have all taken the same action.

The 2020 Wright County Fair in Howard Lake was scheduled to be held July 22nd through July 26th. The 2020 fair was to be the 150th for Wright County. The 2021 Wright County Fair has been scheduled for July 21-25, 2021.

The Fair Board has made a difficult but calculated decision for the best interest of attendee safety & enjoyment, safety & comfort of the employees, exhibitors, vendors, volunteers, as well as the financial well-being of the Fair to avoid risks, fines & penalties to the Fair and possibly Wright County taxpayers. The 150th Wright County Fair for 2020 has been postponed.

The Wright County Fair Board added:

We encourage everyone to support our local businesses, especially those who are so generous with sponsoring and advertising with our Fair. The local businesses need all our support right now, so please consider patronizing them to substitute the family fun as most of the large summer events are being canceled across the state.

The 2020 Minnesota State Fair has also been cancelled, shelving the 'Great Minnesota Get Together' for just the sixth time in the event's history.
