The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of Central Minnesota in effect through 10 PM tonight, including Benton, Kandiyohi, Mille Lacs, Meeker, Pope, and Stearns Counties.

One to four inches of snow are expected in the Winter Weather Advisory area, with light ice accumulations also possible.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for counties to the north and west of Saint Cloud, including Douglas, Morrison, and Todd Counties -- where four to seven inches of snow are expected.

Plan on slippery roads today, and allow extra time for any travel. Snow will end this evening, with dry conditions expected as the system departs the area

Another winter storm is on the horizon for this weekend, with snow likely Saturday night and Sunday. It's too early to nail down exactly how much and where the weekend snow will accumulate.

From the National Weather Service this morning: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for portions of west central and central Minnesota. A Winter Weather Advisory surrounds the Winter Storm Warning where less snowfall amounts are expected, with sleet mixed with rain/snow possible south of the line of snow. Some thunder can also not be ruled out.
