Tragedy Strikes Virginia Tech Again

Just under 5 years ago, Virginia Tech was the setting for the deadliest shooting incident by a single gunman in U.S. History. Today, Virigina Tech becomes the scene of another shooting tragedy.

At 12:37 this afternoon, Virginia Tech officials sent out messages to their students, faculty and visitors that a gunman was on campus, stay indoors and secure your surroundings. The suspect description was sent out shortly after that.

Just after noon a Virginia Tech Police conducted a routine traffic stop that resulted in the shooting death of that officer. The suspect then fled through campus killing another person before disappearing.

As of 3:00 this afternoon, police are still looking for the suspect and the campus remains on lock down. Officials released a statement on their website that a gun was found at the scene of the second deceased victim.
