Timberwolves Rebound with Friday Win Over Cavs
The Minnesota Timberwolves (1-1) rebounded from their season opening loss at San Antonio by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 131-123 Friday night at the Target Center.
The Timberwolves appeared to be blowout bound, leading the Cavs 71-54 at the half, but Cleveland reeled things in a bit closer as the game progressed. In the end, Minnesota won in front of the sellout crowd -- scoring the most points ever in a Timberwolves home opener.
Jimmy Butler led Minnesota in scoring with 33 points and 7 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins added 22 points. Taj Gibson scored 13.
Kevin Love led the Cavs with 25 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists.
