Severe Weather Awareness Week continues across Minnesota Thursday and we’ve got some helpful tips for your emergency safety plan.

A tornado was confirmed to have touched down in rural Benton County near Gilman earlier this week.

The National Weather Service says Friday's storms spawned at least six tornadoes in Minnesota.

Authorities say three tornadoes touched down in southeast Minnesota causing structural damage, but no injuries.

The National Weather Service says at least three to as many as six tornadoes touched down as severe storms moved through south-central Minnesota.

When it comes to tornadoes, it was a pretty average year in Minnesota. The Minnesota State Climatology Office says we will finish the year with 37 confirmed tornadoes, which is one more than the statewide average.
