The Minnesota Wild kept the momentum going in LA with a win over the Kings, the Granite City Lumberjacks, Johnnies, and NDSU Bison posted dominant shutout wins, the Golden Gopher football team came out on top against Nebraska, and the SCSU men's hockey team came up short in their homecoming matchup against the University of Minnesota on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings are heading to North Carolina to face the Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
#13 St. John's (10-2) football season ended today at the hands of #4 Wartburg College (12-0) in Waverly, IA with the Johnnies falling 21-10 in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. The #18 Minnesota Gophers (8-4) ended their regular season with a 34-24 loss to #14 Wisconsin (10-2) in Madison, and now await a bowl invitation.
The St. John’s football team is looking for improvement on their 6-4 finish in 2011. The Johnnies didn’t have stability at quarterback in 2011 but this season they appear to have that. The St. John’s baseball team plays in the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time since 1998 Wednesday in Oregon at Linfield College at 2pm (Central Time) against the regions top seed Concordia of Texas.
