St. John's Johnnies

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-5) are looking to become bowl eligible today when they face the #23 Northwestern Wildcats (7-3) in Evanston, Illinois. The #6 St. John's Johnnies (9-1) are on the road to face #9 North Central College (9-1) in the opening round of the NCAA D-III playoffs.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (3-0) and the St. John's Johnnies (3-1) are both facing conference foes today at home in Minneapolis and Collegeville. The Gophers host the University of Maryland at 11 AM, and the Johnnies face Bethel University at 1 PM.

The St. John's Baseball team defeated St. Scholastica 7-2 in their first game at the NCAA Division III regional at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Logan Hershey and Jack Wingred each homered and drove in 2 runs for the Johnnies.

I'll be at TCF Bank Stadium with my dad tonight as the Minnesota Gophers host the Michigan Wolverines in their first game since Jerry Kill's retirement earlier this week. The Johnnies are at home this afternoon against Augsburg -- and the Huskies face Northern State today at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud.
