St. Cloud School Superintendent Laurie Putnam has been in her new role for almost a month. She joined me on WJON today. Putnam says she's been reaching out to School District staff and families to identify the top concerns they have. She says every parent wants their child to be successful and safe.

St. Cloud School's are transitioning from Willie Jett as the District 742 Superintendent to Laurie Putnam. Putnam, who had been the Assistant Superintendent, will become the new school district Superintendent Friday July 1st but has been transitioning into that role for the past few months.

St. Cloud Schools are planning some building improvements this summer.

During the summer months St. Cloud Schools often have planned maintenance and improvement projects. St. Cloud School Superintendent Willie Jett joined me on WJON today. He says they have planned HVAC work scheduled for Apollo High School this upcoming year and an improved entrance at North Junior High.

A fight broke out at Apollo High School the night of February 15th when Tech played a boys basketball game at rival, Apollo.

The cold weather we are experiencing this week could help to a school closure, delay or a flexible learning day for St. Cloud area schools. St. Cloud School Superintendent Willie Jett joined me on WJON today. He says he is having conversations today with other St. Cloud area Superintendents about how they may handle the cold weather that is expected Tuesday and Wednesday.

St. Cloud School District 742 is still experiencing a bus driver and substitute teacher shortage. That according to Superintendent Willie Jett. He says the Human Resources office is very busy looking for many open positions that aren't exclusive to the before mentioned positions.

xSt. Cloud School District 742 is hosting a job fair Tuesday, September 28th from 4-6 p.m.

St. Cloud School District 742 is committed to in-person learning this upcoming school year.

Nutritional Services employees within the St. Cloud area school district have reached a new contract agreement.

St. Cloud Schools is planning to continue with full in-person learning this fall.
