With Prince's death exactly one year ago today (damn, time flies) Governor Mark Dayton has declared today 'Prince Day' in Minnesota to honor the life of the native musician. Prince died of an accidental opioid overdose on April 21st, 2016.
Today (June 7th, 2016) is PRINCE DAY! Gov. Mark Dayton just announced it yesterday in his proclamation, and encourages everyone to wear purple on what would have been Prince's 58th birthday.
Watch the video and post your pictures of you sporting purple for Prince Day!
Prince may have passed, but his legacy lives on in music and film -- and Marcus Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park will be reliving the magic of Purple Rain with two showings next week. Tuesday & Thursday night at 7 PM, Purple Rain will be shown to what is expected to be sell-out crowds. Tickets are $5, and here's how to get 'em.
