Cathedral baseball head coach Bob Karn was named a Regional Coach of the Year by the American Coaches' Association. The Crusaders were 25-0 in 2015 and are on a 50-game winning streak heading into next season.

The Cathedral Crusaders finished the 2015 season with a 25-0 record and a second straight Class AA state championship under head coach Bob Karn. CHS has won 50 straight games in the past two seasons.

From the Apollo Eagles' boys soccer team capturing a state championship for the first time in school history, to the Cathedral baseball team winning its second straight state title, 2014-15 was a very memorable year in St. Cloud area prep sports.

Jack Schramel and Nate Giambruno each had big games at the plate for CHS despite not having spectacular regular season statistics. The Crusaders will play against #5 seed Marshall Friday at noon on AM 1390 The Fan.

The Cathedral baseball team defeated Cloquet 12-4 in the Class AA State Tournament Quarterfinals at Dick Putz Field today. Cloquet jumped on top 2-0 before Cathedral came storming back.

The Cathedral baseball team will start their defense of the Class AA state title Thursday when they play the Class AA State Tournament quarterfinals against Cloquet at Dick Putz Field at 10am, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 9:50.

The state tournament begins Thursday at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud. Seeding and scheduling will take place Saturday morning.

The Cathedral Crusaders improved to 20-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Melrose in the Section 6AA playoffs at Dick Putz Field.

The high school softball and baseball playoffs are in full swing in the St. Cloud area. The Alexandria Cardinals advanced in the Section 8AAA playoffs with a pair of 6-1 wins over Apollo and Sauk Rapids-Rice Monday afternoon.

The Tigers finish the regular season with a 7-13 record, while the Cardinals ended up at 13-7. Section playoff matchups will be announced Friday afternoon.

The Cathedral baseball team finished up an undefeated regular season Wednesday with a 9-3 win over ROCORI in Cold Spring. Senior Brindley Theisen picked up the win for the Crusaders and was 3-3 at the plate with a pair of RBI. Cathedral (17-0) will open the playoffs Tuesday night at Joe Faber Field.
