The playoff seeds for Section 8AA boys hockey were announced on Friday morning. The St. Cloud boys hockey team received the seventh seed in the eight-team section and will play at St. Michael-Albertville on Tuesday evening (7 PM, AM 1240 WJON).

The Cathedral Crusaders earned the top seed in the upcoming Section 6A boys hockey playoffs. CHS finished the regular season with a 16-5-2 record overall.

The St. Cloud area school district has picked a head coach for the St. Cloud Apollo-Tech boys hockey cooperative.

The St. Cloud area school board approved a Tech and Apollo boys hockey co-op on Thursday night. The combination of the teams will be in place for at least two years. Apollo and Tech boys hockey will be combined into one class AA team.

As much as I enjoy the Minnesota State Hockey Tournament every year (I almost overdosed on hockey this year as I was home sick Thursday & Friday) -- nothing can top each year's All Hockey Hair Team video, and 2016 did not disappoint.

The Hermantown Hawks were crowned 2016 Minnesota Class A Boys Hockey Champions with a lopsided 5-0 win over Breck Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. In Class AA the title went to the upset-minded Wayzata Trojans, knocking off top-seeded Eden Prairie 5-3 for their first hockey title in school history.

The Cathedral boys hockey team closed their season at Mariucci Arena today with a 3-2 win over Mankato West to capture the Class A consolation championship. Michael Spethmann scored the game-winning goal at the 15:44 mark to break the 2-all tie. Logan Neu got the assist.

The Cathedral boys hockey team lost 4-2 in the Class A State Tournament quarterfinals last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.  The game was tied at 1 after 1 period and tied at 2 after 2.  The Spartans scored 2 3rd period goals to win the game...

The Cathedral Crusaders are headed to the state tournament for the seventh time in school history after a 10-2 win over Little Falls Thursday night at the MAC. Over 2,000 fans packed the arena to watch the final.

The #4 seed Little Falls Flyers upset the #1 seed St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 4-1 last night in the Section 6A boys hockey semifinals at the MAC in St. Cloud. The #2 seed St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders upended the #3 seed Sartell Sabres 7-2-- setting up the Cathedral vs. Little Falls matchup for the right to go to state.
