Bowlus is a small town in Morrison County with a population of 279 according to the most recent census. Bowlus was platted in 1907 and named by officers from the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Ste. Saint Marie Railroad. A post office has been in operation in Bowlus since 1907.

Every year Bowlus celebrates "Fun Day" on the first Sunday in July, and is sponsored by the Bowlus Fire & Rescue & Bowlus First Response.

A Bowlus man was taken to the hospital after rolling his vehicle Tuesday.

What makes this one different is how low-key it is. If you want to be in the parade, you just show up.

The goal is to turn the restored space into an exhibit about the history of Bowlus and its fire department.

I wanted to learn more this gorgeous old building it so I reached out to the Morrison County Historical Society. Unfortunately, it seems to be a mystery.
