The need for blood and platelet donation has become even greater.

There has been a lot of devastation in this country and around the world lately. Hurricanes, earthquakes, mass shootings, it is time to do a lot of good to outweigh the bad!

I'm a regular blood donor. Why? Because it's easy, and it makes a real difference. I've also been on the receiving end more than once. Right now the American Red Cross has an urgent need for donors of all blood types. Got an hour to help save lives? Join me in helping out.

January is National Blood Donor Month and I gave blood for the first time ever today! I have to admit, I was a little nervous--blood and needles have always kind of freaked me out.
