SARTELL -- With cell phone addiction becoming an increasing problem on Minnesota roads, a Sartell native is trying to break chain in distracted driving crashes.

Mitch Bain knows a thing or two when it comes to distracted driving after his family was involved in a crash this Summer.

"My wife and three kids were hit on Highway 15 and Division Street by a lady doing 50 mph playing on her cell phone," says Bain.

In fact it seems we are more focused on our phones then the road. Which led Bain on his quest to limit distracted driving throughout the state.

"The statistics for distracted driving was incredible. So I started researching conductive fabric and I came up with CELLslip which blocks all cell signal when your phone is in it," says Bain.

The CELLslip is a light weight, easily store-able device designed to block cell phone signal, provide a physical barrier between you and your phone, and a visual reminder of the dangers of distracted driving.

The CELLslip not only cuts down the anxiety of having to check your phone after every alert, but all your messages will show up within 30 seconds upon removal.

"A lot of times the hardest thing is not responding right away to a message or phone call or snap chat. So if we can stop that I think it's one step closer to making our roads safer," says Bain.

Bain says they have already sold over 10,000 CELLslip's since launching the product last month. They have partnered with the Minnesota Safety Council and are also drawing interested from other businesses across the United States wanting to partner with them.

"I'm hoping this product changes the bad habit of using your cell phone in the car," says Bain.

The CELLslip costs about $15 for 1, $30 for 3 and $45 for 5. From now until January 1st you can receive 30% off with the promo code "SlipItOrTicket."
