We Minnesotans are pretty gosh darn smart!

I'm not sure I would call this the most scientific study based on the factors that were taken in to account but we'll roll with it.  The survey, which was conducted by Central Connecticut State University, took a look at book store data, online and physical libraries, newspaper circulation and several other factors to determine the cities with the highest literacy in the United States.

The list consists of 77 cities across the country, with St. Paul coming in at #4 and Minneapolis taking the top spot.  Minneapolis actually beat out Washington D.C., the reigning 4 year champion.

This is pretty incredible but to me, this just shows we have a high number of folks that read.  I'm no expert but I would think you might need to do some testing on actual people from each city to truly determine which one has the highest literacy.

Either way, it's awesome and it definitely shows we have a lot of readers in Minnesota! Check out the full list here.
