Moorhead, MN (KROC-AM News)- Officials indicate a child on a bike died after being hit by a large truck in northwestern Minnesota.

So far limited information is available. The tragic fatality happened around 11:45 Thursday morning.
Authorities are investigating the deadly incident.

9-Year-old Boy on Bike Killed After Being Struck by City of Moorhead Public Works Vehicle
A short news release issued by the City of Moorhead says one of the city’s public works vehicles was involved in a fatal crash with a bicyclist.
A preliminary crash report released by the State Patrol says the government vehicle involved in the fatal collision was a 2018 Mack 700 Straight Truck.
The state crash report says the truck was heading north on 14th St. when it collided with the young bicyclist in the crosswalk at 40th Ave. in southern Moorhead.
The child's direction of travel was not listed in the preliminary report.
A 9-year-old boy from Moorhead was riding the bike, the state crash report says. Authorities plan to release the young boy’s name by Friday afternoon.
A 64-year-old man from West Fargo, ND was driving the public works vehicle. The State Patrol also plans to release his name Friday afternoon.
Other details regarding the deadly crash are not yet available.
