I Found George Strait’s Tequila ‘Codigo Blanco 1530′ in Waite Park
So it's not everyday that you come across the brands that are backed by your favorite country stars. I've found a few gems at Westside Liquor in Waite Park, including a bourbon whiskey by Jason Aldean called "Wolf Moon" last fall; and now I've come across this one! There were only a few bottles of it, so I would ask for it by name as soon as you can, if you want to get a bottle.
CODIGO TEQUILA
It's Codigo: Blanco 1530 Tequila, backed by George Strait, who by the way, also wrote a song to go along with it. It is actually his favorite brand of Tequila, so he decided to become an owner. It's produced in a little distillery in Amtitan. The original owner didn't want it to be a big brand, so only a few people knew about it.
GEORGE STRAIT'S TEQUILA
All of the Codigo Tequila's are World Class, made from fully mature 7 year old Agave, and this is supposedly the reason it has an exceptional taste. My boyfriend Darin who is more of a bourbon guy, said that this Tequila would actually be something that he could sit and sip. He doesn't drink it unless it has exceptional taste. Hats off to you George! You have a thumbs up! There are a variety of tequila's including:
- Blanco- (You can get it the Waite Park Westside Liquor)
- Rosa
- Reposado
- Anejo
- Origen
Codigo Blanco is available at the Westside Liquor in Waite Park in limited quantities, so we bought a bottle.
