This year is the year of weddings for my friend group. I got married back in April and then handed the baton off to my friends Nick and Erin, who got married June 18th. I’m shifting gears and switching from bride to bridesmaid.

For my own wedding, I went to Concrete Image Salon in Waite Park to have eyelash extensions done. I wanted to look my best, and I loved the service so much that I have kept going back to get them filled in. My eyelashes are looking fabulous, but my hair needed a little work before the next wedding.

I’m far from a natural blonde, but I’ve been attempting to be a blonde since high school. My true colors were showing, and I needed a refresh before the next wedding. Unfortunately, with my busy work schedule, I couldn’t get to my usual stylist, but I knew I could place my trust in the same highly skilled staff that was taking care of my eyelashes. I called Concrete Image to set up an appointment.

They worked around my jam-packed scheduled and set me up with Crystal for a highlight job. Here's my recap on TikTok:

What I really like about Concrete Image is how warm and inviting it is. When you walk in you’re greeted with a smile, friendly conversation, and great music. The playlist is always great there! You get to sit back and relax while highly skilled professionals help you look your best.

Crystal and I spent the time chatting and catching up. We have a bunch of mutual friends so it was nice to check in with what was going on in our lives. It was also great meeting the other stylists who work there. They are all so friendly and sweet. Even my eyelash tech Shannon came out and said hi while I was getting my hair done. Being a client at Concrete Image doesn’t feel like being a “client”. You feel like you’re part of a really fun group of friends.

Crystal took my head full of obviously overgrown roots, and completely refreshed me for the summer. I went from dull to vibrant, and I feel so much more like myself again.

The stylist that was hired to do all the bridesmaids' hair the morning of the wedding had so many compliments on my hair. She loved how the highlights looked and found a way to really show them off with the final style. She mentioned to me that it is actually easier for stylists to work with freshly dyed or highlighted hair. It is much more cooperative on their end for doing formal styles and tends to hold its shape better.
