Capitals Shutdown Wild Thursday Night in St. Paul
The Minnesota Wild (30-20-6) were beat by the visiting Washington Capitals (33-17-7) 5-2 Thursday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild retain their slim hold on the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
The loss also ended Minnesota's 13-game home points streak.
Scoring for Minnesota came from Nino Niederreiter (15) and Eric Staal (26). The Caps out-shot Minnesota 34-27.
