Summertime. We all enjoy it while we can, and so do our furry friends. Every day after work, I'm greeted by my cats and my dog, who are then racing upstairs to the sliding glass door to the backyard. When Mom is home, it's playtime, and they want to get out to their playground.

But...this story is a little different than your traditional backyard good time. This dog travels for his fun. I've seen a dog play fetch, but I've never seen a dog play fetch like this before.

MEET BRUNO

Bruno the retriever is a hunting dog, so when he's hunting pheasants, he's happy. But he's not always hunting pheasants. Sometimes...he'd rather hunt for baseballs.

Bruno has become a star in Sartell. He's a fan of the Sartell Muskies, because Bruno is allowed to go after the foul balls during the games.

THE HALL OF BRUNO

I have to admit, Bruno can steal the show. He intently watches as batters approach the plate, always hoping that someone will hit a foul ball. When they do, he goes after it. Instead of making it to the Hall of Fame, I'm pretty sure this dog would make 'The Hall of Bruno.'

As you can imagine, there are a lot of kids standing nearby hoping for those foul balls too, but they seemingly don't mind trying to catch the ball alongside Bruno. Not only is Bruno excellent at retrieving the balls, but Bruno's owner gives the foul ball to the kids so they can still go get a prize.

ALL AMERICAN FUN

I don't know if anything is more American than baseball, kids, and dogs, and this team seems to have created quite the buzz with Bruno attending games at home and out of town.

BRUNO IS A GOOD DOG

Bruno knows that when his owner, Al Schulte, puts on a special ballcap, it's time to head to the ballfield for some fun.    Don't worry. People ask if Bruno gets too hot sitting out in the sun. Bruno gulps up lots of water between dashes for those foul balls, and it seems like there's no place he'd rather be.
