St. John’s Football Moves Up in National Poll
The St. John's football team is ranked #12 this week in the d3football.com Division III college football poll. The Johnnies opened the season with a 49-0 win over Carthage last Saturday in Collegeville.
Stolen Vehicle, Burglary in St. Cloud
The St. Cloud Police Department are reporting a stolen vehicle on the 500 block of 7th Avenue South. The vehicle is a dark burgundy Kia Sportage LX with a scratch along the driver's side with Wisconsin license plate AYL7593.

St. Cloud’s Spann-Ford Sees Time Week 1 For Cowboys
St. Cloud Tech graduate and former Gopher tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford was not only active for his first professional game with the Dallas Cowboys Sunday but he saw time on 19 offensive plays, which was 30% of Dallas' offensive snaps. The Cowboys blew out the Cleveland Browns 33-17 in Cleveland.

The St. John's football team blew out Carthage 49-0 Saturday in Collegeville to open their season. The Johnnies were led by quarterback Aaron Syverson, who threw for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns. He ran for 35 yards and another score. The Johnnies host Wartburg Saturday September 14 at 1 p.m.
St. Cloud Transitioning 3 Parks Into Splash Pads
The city of St. Cloud is in the process of transitioning 2 parks from wading pools to splash pads and are added a wading pool to one additional park this fall. That according to St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis, who joined me on WJON Friday.

SCSU’s Banaian; Concerning Recent Economic Trends
Will the United States go into a recession? Is the country in one now? These are questions that economists are asking. St. Cloud State Economist King Banaian joined me on WJON. He says economist don't know if a recession is happening but Banaian did highlight some concerning trends.
Takeaways From Bear, Goose, Teal and Dove Hunting
Sunday marked the beginning of the bear, teal, goose and mourning dove seasons in Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. The bear season runs in Minnesota from September 1 - October 13. Schmitt says the DNR doesn't have hard numbers yet but based on his connections with those who hunted north of Little Falls and in the northeastern part of the state, bear hunting was very good during opening weekend.

Update on St. Cloud’s University Drive Project
The University Drive South project is nearing completion according to St. Cloud Public Services Director Tracy Hodel. She joined me on WJON for an update on road and water related projects in the city. Hodel says by end of this week University Drive will be fully open from 9th Ave S to Roosevelt Road with pavement markings to be completed today.
