SOME LIKE IT HOT...

I have to admit. My favorite sleeping temperature is 68.  My favorite outdoor temperature is 72-78.  I came back to Minnesota to escape humidity...except for a few times thru the summer months when I experience it and it makes me thankful I no longer live in the south.

Here's how I enjoy the great outdoors, while still enjoying those hot and humid temps.

1. FROZEN WATER BOTTLES

Yes. Take them in your cooler wherever you plan to go. They serve duel purpose. Put them on your arms, your neck or anywhere you need to help you stay cool while you're outdoors.

2. STAY NEAR THE WATER

I'm all about using a little sunscreen and sitting in the vicinity of a very light sprinkler running in the backyard.

3. BRING A MIST BOTTLE

When your hot, forget makeup. You're going to look like a stupid sweaty mess. leave the makeup at home...put your hair up, dress lightly, and bring a bottle full of water to mist your face whenever you need it.

4. POPSICLES

They make lots of varieties...including sugar free! Stay hydrated with as much water as you can, but don't forget that popsicles can bring sticky enjoyment to any hot humid outdoor gathering.

5. SET A TIMER

Enjoy the great weather close to a cool place...whether your cabin has air conditioning, your house, or you find solace in a swimming pool, lake or bathtub.  I'm never very far away from a door that leads to an air conditioner. Whimp? You bet I am.  I have lived with hot-flashes for 10 years every day, and I'm not going to let some hot day ruin my fun outside.
