As Gerald Ford said in his inauguration on August 9, 1974, "My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.” Fast forward ahead 42 years and you can apply the same thoughts to this year's Twins season. Done. Over. Finished. See you on opening day!

This years Twins team ended the season with two consecutive wins, but that pales in comparison to the season record 103 losses, eclipsing the 1982 team's 102. Tonight my Twins fan mom said, "Well, it can't get worse." Then I slapped her. (No, not really.)

Worst in franchise history? Well not exactly. The 1949 Washington Senators finished 50-104, which is notable because they only played 154 games (as opposed to 162 today). The 1904 Senators are the true bottom-dwellers, losing 113 games in their 151 game season.

If were keeping it Twins-only, the big (or little years) were 102 losses in 1982, 99 losses in 2011, 96 losses in 2012 & 2013. Let's get this fixed -- now.

Does Molitor stay or go?

I'm a Minnesota faithful (good or bad). Go Twins! See you at the 2017 opener.
