MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Dallas Mavericks 97-84 Friday at Target Center.

After weeks of speculation and rumors, the Wolves front office stood pat at the trade deadline. Their faith was rewarded with an incredible defensive effort from its teams. The target of most trade rumors. Ricky Rubio, responded with his finest game of the year finishing with 14 points. 13 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.

The 84 points given up by Minnesota is the second lowest amount the team has given up all season.

Andrew Wiggins led the Wolves with 27 points on 11-21 shooting. Karl Anthony-Towns was second on the team with 26 points and led the team with 18 rebounds.

The win pulled the Wolves even with the Mavericks in the Western Conference Standings at 22-35. Both teams are chasing the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot.
