#9 St. John's (10-2) saw their season end at the hands of #4 UW-Oshkosh (11-1) today in the second round of the NCAA DIII playoffs in Oshkosh. The Minnesota Gophers (8-4) closed out their regular season with a loss to #6 Wisconsin Badgers (10-2) this afternoon in Madison.

The Johnnies fell 31-14 to the Titans. To add insult to MIAC injury -- St. Thomas advanced to the DIII quarterfinals with a 55-6 win over Coe College, earning the right to face Oshkosh next week.

The Gophers, who led 17-7 at halftime, crumbled behind Mitch Leidner's four second half interceptions -- ultimately falling 31-17, allowing the Badgers to retain Paul Bunyan's Axe.

While the Johnnie's season comes to an end, the Gophers await an invitation to what should be a fairly attractive bowl game.
