Wisconsin Man Pictured With Beloved Dog In Lake Superior Adopts New Dog [VIDEO]

I teared up once again at this story.

You might remember a photo going viral about a year ago of a man holding his aging dog in Lake Superior.  That was John and his dog, Schoep.  Schoep loved the water but because of arthritis he could no longer swim and even walking was difficult.  John would take him to Lake Superior and hold him in the water, sometimes for hours.

I remember when I saw that picture and read the story behind, I cried.  That photo captured his devotion to his dog so clearly and I would say it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.  For pet owners this is something we all hope to be able to do for our animals.

Schoep passed away last year and now KARE 11 is reporting that John has opened his heart and his home to another friend.
