The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from Noon Friday though 6 PM Saturday for portions of Central Minnesota including Stearns, Benton, and Sherburne Counties -- where 4 to 7 inches of snow is now expected.

From the National Weather Service this evening: Light snow will begin tonight and could accumulate an inch or two by morning. After a relative lull possible Friday morning, snow will redevelop rapidly during the early afternoon and become heavy at times through the evening. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 11 inches are expected across much of southern Minnesota into central and southern Wisconsin with amounts tapering off gradually to the north. Then, dangerously cold air will arrive Saturday night with lows in the 20s below zero and wind chills of 35 to 45 below.
