Winter Storm Watch Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Noon Friday through Noon Saturday for portions of Central Minnesota including Stearns, Benton and Sherburne Counties-- where 6 to 8 inches of snow is expected.

From the National Weather Service this morning: A big snowstorm is expected Friday into early Saturday across the Upper Midwest. Widespread totals in excess of 6 inches are likely, with some in the 8 to 10 inch range across portions of the area. Following the snow, the coldest air since January 2014 will arrive with widespread lows in the -20s Saturday night and wind chills of 30 to 45 below by early Sunday morning.
