Wild Win In OT
The Minnesota Wild ran their winning streak to six games Monday night in Dallas.
The Wild won for the first time in Dallas since 2003 with a 7-4 victory over the Stars on Monday night. Minnesota has now won six straight games to run their record to 19-10-2 on the season.
The Wild trailed 2-1 after the first period with a Zach Parise goal sandwiched by a pair of Stars tallies, including Jaromir Jagr scoring on the power play late in the period for the one goal lead.
Minnesota outscored Dallas 3-1 in the second period to take a 4-3 lead into the locker room. Mikko Koivu, Parise and Matt Cullen had goals for the Wild in the second, with Cullen's being the former SCSU Husky's 200th career goal.
Philip Larsen tied the game for Dallas seven minutes into the third period, but it was all Minnesota from that point on. Kyle Brodziak scored the Wild's first short-handed goal of the season at 12:38 for the eventual game-winner.
Dany Heatley and Pierre-Marc Bouchard also scored in the third period for the Wild. Niklas Backstrom made 22 saves for the win. Minnesota is in third place in the Western Conference and is tied with Vancouver for the lead of the Northwest Division.
