The Minnesota Wild (20-8-4) extended their winning streak to nine games by beating the Montreal Canadiens (21-8-4) 4-2 last night at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Nine straight wins matches the franchise record, with a chance to break it tonight against the Rangers

The Wild are now just four points behind Chicago in second place in the Central Division, but have played three fewer games than the Blackhawks. Minnesota continues its road trip against the Rangers tonight in New York, followed by a game next Tuesday in Nashville.

The Wild return home to the Xcel Energy Center with games against the New York Islanders on December 29th and the Columbus Blue Jackets on New Year's Eve.
