The Minnesota Wild (44-26-8) lost to the visiting Detroit Red Wings (41-24-13) 3-2 in an eight-round shootout last night at the Xcel Energy Center, picking up the loser point. The Wild have earned points in eight of their last ten games.

The Wild have now lost consecutive games for just the first time since January 19th/20th, but still remain four points ahead of the Winnipeg Jets and Los Angeles Kings for the first Western wild card spot.

Only four games remain on the regular schedule for the Wild, with the final three on the road in Chicago, Nashville, and St. Louis.

Next up for the Wild; tomorrow night at 7 PM against the Winnipeg Jets at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul (Radio: 1240 WJON, TV: Fox Sports North).
