The Minnesota Wild (35-22-7) moved up a notch in playoff position with last night's 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals (35-21-10) in D.C. The victory bumps the Wild up from the 8th and final playoff spot to the 7th position in the West -- now just four points behind the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jason Pominville scored twice in the third period for the Wild. Goalie Devan Dubnyk made 24 saves, improving to 17-3-1 since joining Minnesota back on January 14th -- starting every game for the Wild during that time.

Minnesota out shot Washington 30-25.
