Wild Enter Olympic Break On A High Note
The Minnesota Wild will enter the Olympic break on a high note after beating the Nashville Predators 3-2 in overtime Thursday night. Nino Niederreiter scored the game winner with just over two minutes remaining in overtime.
Jonas Brodin’s eighth goal of the season gave the Wild a 1-0 lead at 4:05 of the first period with an assist credited to Neiderreiter.
After the Predators jammed home a loose puck to tie the game at 1-1 just under two minutes later, Zach Parise connected on the power play for his 19th of the season on a wrist shot just under the crossbar.
The Preds tied the game at two at 7:40 of the second period and neither team scored in the third period.
Niederreiter’s goal came at 2:16 of overtime with assists credited to Kyle Brodziak and Jared Spurgeon.
The Wild outshot Nashville 36-18 in the game, including an 18-7 margin in the third period/overtime
